How we work

Editorial Policy

The care that goes into what you read here, and the promises we make about it.

Last updated September 8, 2026

Our promise

Everything published on Wellness Through Self-Care is made to be kind, clear and genuinely useful. We would rather say less and mean it than fill a page. You will not find shame, scare tactics, or pressure here — that is a deliberate choice.

How content is created

Our resources come from lived experience, thoughtful research, and a lot of quiet testing before anything is shared. We write in plain language, avoid jargon, and try to meet you on an ordinary day rather than an ideal one.

Sources and accuracy

Where we mention wellbeing information, we aim to draw on reputable, established sources. We are careful not to overstate what any practice can do. If the evidence is mixed or gentle, we say so rather than dressing it up.

Not a substitute for care

Our content supports wellbeing; it does not replace professional help. This is important enough that we set it out fully in our Medical Disclaimer.

Independence and recommendations

When we recommend a product or resource, our opinion is our own and is never for sale. Some links may earn us a small commission, always disclosed in our Affiliate Disclosure — but that never decides what we suggest.

Updates and corrections

We revisit our content as understanding grows. If we get something wrong, we fix it openly rather than quietly. If you spot an error, please tell us — we will be grateful, not defensive.
